When ARSS were asked to Rehabilitate a Bendigo Tourist icon we knew we had our work cut out. The historic Chinese ponds are a major tourist attraction. Several others had tried and failed before us, and much money had been spent, so expectations were high. None the less we journeyed up the Hume to undertake the task.

Five days later we returned, having achieved complete success. The Chinese Pond was once again returned to its former glory (and not a single sacred fish lost in the process), despite interruptions from massive thunderstorms during the works which threatened to fill the pond faster than we could empty it.  Andy survived a close call with a school of rampant killer goldfish, but thanks to his HUET and confined space entry training he was able to escape unscathed.  Stay tuned for further adventures of Andy.
